base power notification

with recent updates making power so much more of a game ender (by requiring a welder to fix) i think that there should be a notification specifically tailored for when the power is going down in your main base.
in the last few weeks I've seen the game end this way very often, and i think if the com heard a warning like "Main base power under attack" it would do a lot towards preventing many rounds from ending in, not just failure, but disappointment, because the com didn't notice that 1 skulk for like 20 sec.

if it were me, i would give it more health and repair faster, but regardless of that, voice notification should really be added, only for when they are attacking main base power (base with most IPs)

yay or nay?

it is certainly the coms job to tell the team whats going on, but base power or phase gate power is a very frequent issue to deal with...

so yay for any base with cc+obs, IP or pg.

No. The UI/notification system shouldn't be a babysitter. Communicate with your team better.

it's very frustrating as a commander to waste tons of res on beacons because your team is mostly consistent of unaware newbies (which makes it difficult enough as it is) who ignore your voice-chat warnings for some arbitrary reasons.

we have notifications that the cc is under attack, that a hive is under attack (including that fancy scream) so why not for the main power node? thats quite inconsistent imo. either remove ALL babysitting-warnings or add one for the power node.
uwe stated somewhere that they want people to spend less time on the maximap, this is probably why you see those blue arrows on the ground for waypoints. so if this is the direction they have chosen (noob-friendlyness) then this seems quite mandatory imo. a newbie can easily overlook that grey little circle flashing, especially when you compare this to a cc or hive being attacked.

    Constant UI notification? Nay.

One time UI notification? Yay - have it work along with the sound at 40%. But only for the people in the room.

Yeah this annoys me too, but what can you do? You cannot force a crap to win. They deserve to lose.

People are saying that "we shouldn't help noob coms by babying them along with indicators for everything", but come on... this is now a higher priority than "your command center is under attack", or "(horrible screaming of hive under attack)".

1 or 2 clever skulks can beat a whole team when the com goes scrolls off to support an attack without keeping one eye bolted to the minimap.

The power is the game's ultimate round ender for the marines. if that can go down in under 10 sec with 3ish skulks, the com at least needs someone yelling at him/her about it.

what if the commader gets static on his screen when the powernode that is powering his commchair is getting attacked.

    just a subtle warning
