<div class="IPBDescription">Is it just frowned upon or is it a no no</div>in my map ns_frigid i'm planning to have areas that the commander cant see, like a tunnel that has been dug out by the aliens and a service tunnel. and other areas that probably wouldnt be covered by the security systems.
are there any objections to that?

You may want to consider using height in vents to stop marines from using them, though. Several of my vents are high on the wall, or bend upwards after a short distance, so marines can't get any further through them.
im all for areas the commander cant see as long as they arent of any huge significance for the marines.
Vents and alien-only routes are probably the only things you should hide. I plan on hiding all my vents and maintenance conduits, especially when you consider how unlikely it is to find security cameras in them.
one of them won't be much use until jetpacks are available because it comes out at the bottom of this shaft and the hive is at the top of the shaft and immpossible to see from the bottom of the shaft.
basicly they are routes that won't be used much by the marines until late in the game. the aliens will use them the most.
