Will I be able to run this game?

Hardware Question
After watching TB's video in this game I decided that I would probably get this game at some point. What has put me off so far is that loads of people have been having trouble running this. I haven't checked back in a while, so I'm not sure if the game has been optimised anymore. My PC's basic specs are:
AMD 3.8Ghz CPU
8Gb ddr3 RAM
1GB radion HD 7800 series (I think)
Windows 7 64bit
My question is whether or not I can ur. this game in it's current state at a smooth FPS. If not, I'll check back in another while to see if they have optimised it further. If any further details are needed tell me and I'll post them. Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately, there is no rig in the world that can run this game at a constant 60fps+ right now. As far as I know, the next patch might bring some good improvements around 20%+ higher performance.
I'd estimate around 50fps average for you right now, with dips as low as 30fps in heavy late game combat.
Do you know something we don't or is that just pure speculation? I certainly hope so, but I doubt even the devs themselves know exactly how fast NS2 will run at release.
I would call it an educated guess; Ofcourse it's not set in stone. Right now, performance is nowhere near where it needs to be in order for this to become what it can be. However, the devs at UWE know what they are doing, and they know it well. I have faith in their ability to make it work as envisioned. It's definitely still planned for 1.0, but changes that improve performance can be made after 1.0 as well. It never stops, really.
So no, I don't know something you people don't, I just repeat what UWE sais - that it'll work on certain specs.
