Marine Rush

omg ti worked, like what 3 times?
Thats right, marines rushed and won 3 times in a 32 player server. it was amazing to see a bunch of LA LMGs blastign away thier two clips into a hive, dying and repeating.

anyways the point of this post is, in 32 player servers Marines have the advantage at the start. but that'll quick change if you don't get 2 hives. Ever seen 5 fades outside each door(in eclipse) using acid rocket, while 5 go onos and 1 builds D chambers?

Yes Y3ti, aliens are severely crippled in huge games. That's why I always tell everyone to attack in groups and don't rush.. otherwise, (ESPECIALLY on ns_eclipse) you'll just get mowed down by the horrendous amount of gunfire.

Also, the aliens seem to be severely disadvantaged when it comes to resources. The Marines can build resource towers much faster than gorges, and thus quickly take control of the map and have enough resources to get HA/HMG. It took me a record of about 21 minutes of winning a game on that server, Y3ti.. and I had just finished researching heavy armor and upgraded the advanced armory. (I didn't get to dispense any of it though, because we had already won.)

Huge servers are unfair for marines because of the resource distribution for aliens.

A Gorge rapidly runs out of resources building stuff, while all those Fades and Skulks are accumulating resources up the wazoo - they dont use it for anything. Meanwhile, a Commander can use 100% of his resources to build stuff.

Aliens should be able to set their resource priority - Gorges would automatically get 3x normal resources, but a skulk who doesnt plan on doing anything other than rushing should be able to turn his resource recieving off, so that the rest of the team can get more.

Obviously, you have no idea what you're talking about. On a huge server, a 32 player one, 16 vs 16, it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE for the aliens secure a second hive, even a third. Y3ti and I both played on the same server and you'd find that almost every single map was won by marines. I think of the 5-6 hours I played there yesterday, the aliens won once, but mainly because the commander wasn't sure of himself and ended up messing up a lot of turret placement, and researching everything very slowly.

So the marines have quite nice advantages. The aliens, even with experienced players, even with MonsieurEvil and some other "devs", the aliens still lost.

Sorry if I come off as a jerk, but it just seem like you haven't played on such a huge server. It's one of the most frustrating ones as well, since no matter how hard you try, no matter how much teamwork and coordinated the aliens are, they cannot seem to win against a good commander with that many marines. I think I developed a grudge towards big servers. :P

I've never play Gorg on a 16 v 16 game, but I find that I get resources(as fade, slulk onos lerk) about 1 every 2 secodns or so.. I usually let my resources cap off befor eI start upgrading armor and stuff. This drains my resources into other gorgs and stuff.. I think >.>

1 every 2 seconds? man its like 1 every 30 seconds for me when theres 15 other players on your team sapping up resources.

Oh hell no. 16v16 is so fun, even if you're about to lose the game

Yeah.. the alien team usually loses, but they usually have a lot of fun. Especially when a few aliens weakened a group of marines and that one really good alien player comes in and kill 'em all! That's fun.

There are few things more annoying for me as a commander...no matter how many marines under my command....to see one skulk...cut down three or for of then at the onset...got that's painful to see. I do enjoy massive servers like 16 on 16...just for the sheer numbers of it all...then also if I have a couple rambos to the group I can effectivly ignore them and concentrate on my attack squads. On small servers I can't...
