It will fall over in 0 seconds flat.
The physics of it is just mind boggling. Look at shots here

The huge heavy reactor on the back, extending out many feet behind, as well as the positioning of the leg sockets, arm sockets and the size of the foot pads, it will just fall backwards every time. the whole standing position should have the hip sockets moved back on the torso more to counter act the back end. The foot pads should extend farther back behind the legs to counter act this.
also the hydraulics going from the knee to foot yes, does help with load on the horribly designed ankle joint, but its sheer pressure upwards on the knee would just make it tip backwards..
Imagine this, you strap 100 lbs to your upper back (behind shoulderblades) edxtending out behind you 1 foot, then I want you to stand on your tippy toes, and kneel down keeping your back straight perpendicular to the floor and make sure your hips are behind your tip toes (trying to imitate the anklage/jointage and posture of the exo suit. You'd fall right the ###### back :)
Dont get me started on the fact they expect you tobelieve a person is fitting in there, where do their legs go, because the way its assembled, theres no way

Based on the fact your head needs to see out the top, your arms have to control the controlls.. but your legs,, are you curlled up in a ball, no way your legs can fit into those legs properly
I love it for gameplay and i think it looks amazing, but the nerd in me just had to point out that when creating it, it doesnt seem like actual real world motility was thought about. I get making it and the need to suspend disbelief and just enjoy it and think its cool... but I'm a weird one like that. Needless to say though, great job Corey and the rest of the team that put work onto it, i think it will be really fun and a great addition.

Lol sounds like a simple "cheating" way to explain it haha.
"nanites!" is the way to explain anything!
Your theory is flawed!
Actually around the marines hip is a Phasegate - only his upper half is in the Exo, his bottom half is on the restroom toilet halfway across the planet.
What he said XD
lol, *applaud*
But really, I don't see how you could come to any real conclusion considering it's a video game.
hahaha was waiting for that to hit
It almost asks for a game mechanic where an Onos can knock it flat on its back....which would be totally hilarious.
Instead of the marines turtling, the aliens could 'turtle' the Exo.
Nice NANITES pic though.

don't underestimate what a human can do with some practise! (assuming the marine can control these hydraulics as well)
as example, this is me using powerisers (they have fiber glass springs) some years ago (i'm not THAT skinny anymore ._.):

you can see that the "feet" are actually not below the center of mass! still, falling backwards is a very very rare thing to happen.
and even with those little feet, i can run and also jump on one leg without holding back:
<a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/nulldsc00009.jpg/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/2277/nulldsc00009.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
<a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/836/nulldsc00008.jpg/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8590/nulldsc00008.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
a person in an exo suit will have much poorer agility of course, but it's not like it's running around very fast. as for walking normally, the risk for me to fall with these things is about as low as tripping without wearing them. i don't think a heavy backpack would even make a huge difference there. and this is me, being a phyiscally weak person without any professional training!
here is what people do who are actually good at this:

so for me, the exo balance seems fine considering there might be powerful motors in these joints.

And in the worst case O'Neill can explain to you why it works because of...

Ever seen a man with a very bulky backpack on? yeah.
Also I think you should turn your engineering major to the teleporting fade before you start complaining about structural faults of the exo.

And in this thread, the vacuum under the feet idea is the most resonable. Because you could use the heat from the engine, the minigun and the human inside to power a turbine for keeping the vacuum up.
Fetal position to get inside the exosuit is also a requirement or you'll hit your head on the hood. :D
he sits in the standard TSF exo pilot position, crisscross apple sauce.
