Possesing Cysts

After seeing Shrike3O's Metastases idea I tought about posting an old idea I had a long time ago, but a bit more refined.

My idea is to give a alien commander (please stop trying to make khamm happen everyone, I hate that word.) the option to "posses" Hives and Cysts. Just select it, press a button and you view from the hive/cyst in first person. From this perspective you can place all your cysts like you normally can. A quick scroll up/down takes you to the next/previous cyst in the chain.

This will make it easier to spread cysts through vents, over walls, weird places in general.
I'm not sure if other structures should also be placable through this viewpoint. Since then youd be able to stack some crags into a vent or something.
On the other side it would make it easier to place structures so they are placed at their optimum. Close enough to a door, just outside of view from the corridor.

I haven't tought about balancing, what if every building is now placed on the ceiling to keep it out of knife-range?

I would love an FPS/RTS view toggle aside from logging in/out! I think the Drifter can also qualify for this ability, maybe even move around and place Pheromones :)

Personally not a big fan of possession/new viewpoint stuff.

And secondly cyst not on the ground can really mess with balance. Mature Cysts have quite a bit of HP, and would require heavy weaponry or lots of LMG bullets if you couldn't knife it.

I feel we should try implementing it. If mature cysts have too much health, UWE can just tweak it down.

I don't think a first person toggle serves any real purpose for a commander.

I love this idea - the idea of the comm placing cysts and buildings on the walls an ceilings!

Balance wise I think its self balancing - it takes time to switch to 1st person cystview, so there for the extra time the commander spends carefully placing items, the more time marines spent trying to destroy them.

This also means the GL isn't a one stop shop since it would have trouble at destroying things on the ceilings and high walls - and this is where the flamethrower would really come in handy.

Could you do a "spectate" view off gorges too? to allow for some gorge and commander co-op love.
