Steam and the Beta

New as a forum member but I have been lurking for awhile. Anyway, I am going to pre-order the game today on Steam (should but up on steam soon I think) but wanted to know if I will have access to the beta through steam. I like to order through steam as its keeps all my games in one place.

So, can you get into the beta through steam? Or do you have directly order from the site here?

As far as i know, you will have access to the beta. I mean, it's what you are paying for, isn't it? :D

You will not be able to play NS2 if you are preordering through Steam until the release of the game (TBA).

It's a pre-order on Steam, not beta access. They definitely don't want the general public to see NS2 in its beta stages. Many people will not even realize what a beta is.

I expect mostly GUI changes and improvements to new user help, something that could make or break a new players investment in the game.

So yeah, not giving beta access to steam pre-orders is a good idea.

Only people who bought it before steam get beta access, the beta is now closed for new people. Keep in mind that its 25$ for the steam version where the beta pre-steam version was 35$.

You get an entire extra copy of the game for free plus the delux edition plus access to the beta. I would say that 10$ was worth it.
