Server Browser causes lag

I get under 10 fps when the server browser is populating, but have a constant 60 fps once it finishes, in the menu, and in every part of the actual game. Is anyone else getting this lag? Does anyone know why it's happening?

    Yeah, I get it too. Some badly written or organized code is to blame.

    This is true the server browser is lacking but there is a user fix to it. I direct you over the ns2 modding community which has made a wonderful nonflashmenumod which runs 100 times smoother and has more options such as auto retry and join a server when a slot becomes available it very nice.
