Voice Game System
<div class="IPBDescription">Or quick chat...</div>Hi everyone,
I think I'm not the only here who think we could use a larger choice of prerecorded messages to use quickly to communicate with our team.
Because of this, GuneeYouFix and I intend to try and build a mod to enrich the existing VGS.
The development should begin shortly, in the mean time you are welcome to give your opinion on our first <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x01jfPkdv1YR35UEgs8cEC1zW87_OaJRO7hXAUVczY0/edit" target="_blank">design document</a>.
See you in the RR !

Maybe I should have been more clear, but the letter before each command is the key you need to press to use it, greatly inspired from Tribes, which I agree with you has done a very good job on this subject.
We are trying to mix together the Tribes system with the different roles that you can have in NS. For example Orders can only be used by the Com, and the units can ask for Ammo. In Tribes I think all commands can be used by all at all times expect for a few CTF and C&H specifics.
We are trying to find letters to enter the commands that are both natural (<b>C</b> for Command Station) and located on the left of the keyboard, to enable you to use you left hand only without needing to move it too much from the wasd keys. Still we currently have issues with a few commands (<b>O</b> for Onos comes to mind first, but not easy to reach)
But for me it looks like a system to make the alert-system for players simpler, which is good, but it would be even simpler with just using a headset, wouldn't it?
I agree. Besides it is not always easy to understand what people might say over the microphone because of many things such as various accents, quality of microphone or just because English may not be your primary language. Team will always prefer using mumble or teamspeak, but the main target is pub play.
I have to say I am a bit worried that we get might get chat spam once implemented.
L4D also has a button called "Look" in the center that changes based on what you are looking at. You could do the same, for example if you are looking at a hive then it will say hive spoted.
