Lag when turning

<div class="IPBDescription">Wont lag as long as I am looking/moving in one direction</div>When turning from side to side I get a big lag spike but if I look in one direction or move in one direction its fine. It started in patch 218 and then was fixed yesterday when 219 came out. I start playing today and now its back. I'm playing on servers with ping around 50 so I doubt thats the problem. I have messed with all of my graphic setting and tried a few things from the tips for better performance but nothing seems to work. Anyone with some advice or even a fix would be great.

I love NS2 and think its better then I could have hoped for but its a shame to not be able to play anything besides comm.

Thanks for any help!

I had that too, when turning would produce 1-2fps. This is approximate, as FPS meter would never drop (from r_stats).
Very odd, as using keyboard would never do this, in all directions. So I thought it was strange that only mouse would do that and yesterday I tried to experiment, and use a different one that I have - I was using the basic Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 with bluetrac and its own transmitter before. Yesterday I switched to older Microsoft Laser Mouse 8000 (that one uses bluetooth).

And so far it's not happening! I don't think my issue was related to any specific release, as I have been playing since 216 and had this issue on and off - sometimes it would happen and sometimes it wouldn't.

I will be testing some more today...

Note that in other uses and other games, it wasn't an issue with my original mouse.

Well when I read your replay I was thinking that it would never work but it did! I have a logitech G700 which is wireless but can be plugged in to charge. I played yesterday with it plugged in and today with it unplugged. It still didnt work today after I plugged it in though. So I figured what the hell I have an extra mouse so I will try that one and it worked! So I guess I might have to juggle between plugged/unplugged and the other mouse to see which one works but I am just shocked that it has anything to do with that.

Anyway thanks for your replay and r00t... your my hero.

I was shocked too, especially since other games/apps are not affected...

Yeah my normal mouse works for everything so that is confusing to say the least.
