Hit Sounds

Hi there

Just a suggestion to add hit sounds whenever a players hits another players. Currently I find the feedback given from some things to be a bit lacking (as skulk I almost never know if I have hit someone and for how many times). I have searched the mod forums for something like this and didn't find anything. So can some modder, or maybe even UWE themselves, add a feature that plays a sound on a successful hit?

    Like marine sounds effect ie. groaning or like a bing.

    It doesn't have to be a groan, it can just be a sound like in Quake, that "blip" that indicates you hit something.

    I sometimes die quicker as a gorge then i expect to when im far away from marines, more feedback in the form of visual or audio is a good idea.

    Could have sworn we used to have more feedback and it was reduced. I constantly die as an alien because there is so little feedback from damage.

    I agree with this, at close ranges, the sound of gunshots is your only alert that you might be dying. At long ranges, you may just die before you notice.

    New update has damage indicators (which already helps a lot with knowing if you hit someone). Next update hit sounds, please? :)

    The damage numbers are enough and i like them, i hate these "BOINK BOINK" sounds from quake or team fortress, very annyoing and sound more like pinball.

    Exactly. This is why I asked a modder to do it first, since then only people that wanted to use it can install the mod. But if UWE do implement it I'm sure it'll be a option that you can just turn off if you do not fancy it, just like you can do with the damage numbers.

    It doesn't have to be "BOINK" sounds, it could just play the impact sounds straight into the players ear rather than in the world. Even realistic games like Red Orchestra 2 do that and it works really well.
