Marine Jump Need To Increase By 20%

It's seems like it's an unfair advantage that Skulks get to use their faster speed and teeth to get in close and bite Marines.
To counteract this imbalance that was noticeable for some time, I think Marines need to have their jump speed, distance, and height increased by 20%.
Seems like a logical progress at this rate.

Word. At some point some developer somewhere went "hey, you don't really jump higher IN REAL LIFE when you pull up your feet, you just kinda crouch mid-air" and since then every FPS game wanted to be hip too so now we're all bobbing up and down awkwardly as hell.
The ye olde crouch just FEELS good. It feels like a taste of a platformer. It feels like a game. The current wannabe-realistic crouch every game has makes me feel like I'm playing Operation Flashpoint (great game mind you) or some other war sim where moving is SUPPOSED to feel cumbersome, where you're supposed to feel awkward, cuz, hey, you really would, wouldn't you?
But whatever.
:D
More seriously, I think the jumping is kind of a silly mechanic. It might be more interesting to make jumping slow you down and reduce stamina quickly so that multiple jumps aren't possible. Then let the rifle but do little damage but instead knock skulks back 10 feet. Would be more realistic and fun.

Awesome!
By the way, linking jumping to the same stamina as sprint might not be such a wacky idea.. Especially when performance gets better and skulks gets easier and easier to hit, it might need some balancing and reducing jumpspam might fix that and reduce the sillyness of fights.
Also, you need to know you just made my day Cory. I loves me some crouch jumping.
Ditto....waiting for a similar post/thread about how exo's need bigger thrusters as skulks can get close and hurt them otherwise.
lol
Sounds like a cool remake of half life: Ricochet.... with skulks!

are you serious?
PLAY THE GAME and learn to play!
marines already dance like retards in beta 220...
ingame, a exo died and they complain "BLA EXOS TO WEAK Wahahaha whine whine"...EXOS are weak? OMG!
If you're not being serious, please take the 'funny' to off-topic.
thank you daniel!
you ar eright and im not beeing sarcastic.
Is the pushback still in the game? If so, a good first step would be to remove it (or nerf it a lot) before improving jump.

What skulk dominance? When they have cele/cara/leap and are fighting 0/0 marines? In my experience early and late game both heavily favour marines over skulks. Imo the pushback is unnecessary and very frustrating, marines already have the massive advantage of range and handy riflebutt to help them out in melee.
Besides I think any advantage the skulk has is more because of its erratic animations and hitmesh movement when it transitions across axes and when it jumps.

is there a way to get a stamina bar in game? cuz i always randomly stop sprinting and theres no visual as to why i stopped. Day of defeat had a stamina bar in the lower right of the screen i believe
Yes because that extra jump will help you avoid them fades .../facepalm

I agree on this...the pushback needs to be removed or greastly nerfed....I mean if the aliens have actually managed to close within melee...why does 1 attack run the risk of pushing the marine out of attack range?
As a marine if a skulks at my feet and I dont have JP...I am pretty much toast against a decent skulk...which is fine.
At a distance that same skulks mince meat for me.
Maybe aliens should get a vortex type ability that sucks marines into melee range...
