Error: Error installing mod

<div class="IPBDescription">Can't install mods</div>I can't install mods in NS2. Joining servers that have mods fail and subscribed mods don't install. In the mods screen they download, complete and then show as "unavailable". The only message I get is "Error: Error installing mod 'modname'" in the console. e.g.
Error: Error installing mod 'Combat Mode'
Error: Error installing mod 'NS2c'

    I've been getting this recently. I can't install the DAK Admin Kit. I'm subscribed and everything. It will download, get to like 62%, then just stop and say the mod isn't active. Then goes through the cycle endlessly. I've tried reinstalling NS2 totally, and it did nothing. I don't know what to do :( I can't play at any All-In servers.

    When the workshop first came in I got the minimal alien vision and crosshair mods. But when I had them activated my game froze every time I tried to join a server. So I deactivated them and figured it would be fixed in the future.

    Now I can't even join the All-in servers. It freezes on downloading mods every time. I can't even play the game now seeing as All-In are the only servers that get populated regularly with decent ping for me.

    Please tell me someone has a fix for this.

    Have you tried clearing the Workshop folder? Unsubscribe from the mods in the workshop and then delete the Workshop folder in %APPDATA%\Natural Selection 2\

    (press Windows+R and enter that)

    Try removing your existing workshop folder, and if that doesn't work try going to Steam/Steamapps/Common/Natural Selection 2 and right-clicking on NS2.Exe and choosing "run as Administrator"...

    there is another thread in this forums with the same topic, a large number of us players have been getting this. We can literally only join servers that are mod free atm.
