How do I get my copies?

I preordered approximately five million years ago. So, I should be getting black armor and a free copy for one of my brobeans.

I have specifically not played the beta, because I wanted to first experience the game in what Flayra and his crew considered a finished state. As a result, I'm... way out of the loop. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.

How do I get my stuff on Steam? I think I registered my beta key when I got it, thinking it would make stuff... "connected" or something? I dunno. All I know is I don't have anything yet. Which is okay, because it's not actually released, and I don't know if they're doing a pre-load or not.

But I want to be ready, you know? So, uh... what do I do?

If you already added your NS2 key on steam, it should be in the game list, ready to be installed.

...I could swear I already did that. Apparently not?

Aaaaand, now I can't. I just dug the key out of my gmail, and tried to put it in Steam, and Steam thinks it's a key for an expansion to something. It claims I need to own something else for it to work.

    :/

if its in your library it should be fine. It will activate on Oct 31. But, right now it won't let you download content you have to wait till 31.

You found your black armour DLC key. You need to find your steam key first. It came from 'store@unknownworlds.com' with a subject of 'Natural Selection 2 Steam Key'. Once you activate that key, you can add the DLC key to get your black armour.

Having trouble finding it? Get your keys resent here: http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve

"Natural Selection 2 Steam Key" is the title of the email I found, and it only contains one key. That is the one I put in, and that is the one Steam told me I needed to own something else to use.

Maybe I didn't put it in when I got it, and it expired? I don't know how these work.

At some point the keys got changed. use the link posted to get your key again, then you are sure to have the right one :)

As for the free copy, i'm not sure how that works since you didn't activate your copy on steam yet, and everybody got their free key over steam. you might have to contact the UWE support if you dont have it when the game gets released (the gift copies are useless before the official release anyway)
