NS2 benchmark mode ?

quick question :
Is there any way to have NS2 do some benchmarking ?
Like playing a demo, and then showing min / max / avg fps displayed during this demo.

Why I ask so :
I see some ppl are having old configuration similar to mine, and saying the game runs fine.
This would provide a way to define the "fine" part.
My computer is old (ATI hd 4870 + intel duo E8400, bought late 2008)
NS2 is indeed running. one or two skulk at my screen being ok
but in late game, in base rush with shade / bilebombs effect, many players on screen, I drop to 5-15 fps.

I'm going to try various change to my setup (like a crossfire of HD 4870, I got one left somewhere...)
I'd like to have a 'formal' way to compare my system to others ppl, to know If I need to change everything, or if a new graphic card could be enought.

There is a console magic in the air :)
"r_stats" will show you fps and how many xyz is being rendered, and where your system is lacking behind.
"record" will record the game from your perspective, as you saw it, console commands shown, all the lags, everything. An exact copy :)
"play" will play the saved recording.
Just like the logs, everything will be saved in your %appdata%/Natural Selection 2 folder.
