Installing 224

(This is for a win 2003 server, so it might be just the old old software)

So i was trying to install 224 on a clan server and it wouldnt run. Running server.exe quit with no output.

I finally found that I needed to install:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)

I tried the 2010 package, but it went back to not working.

I tried to update the wiki page <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/index.php/Dedicated_Server" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/inde...edicated_Server</a> but it blocked the post because of the link.

the need to install this seems to be a win 2003 problem. I tried it on server 2007 and it worked fine.

    Now im getting lots of:
    Network variable 'ping' of class 'Ping' has value 0.000000 which is outside the
    range 0.000000 to 0.000000

    Cheers for the heads up, someone on IRC had the same issue and found out he needed to install the MS V C++ distrib but didn't mention version, lemme correct that in the wiki.

    Also, shouldn't Steam offer to install this?

    Most people don't run Steam on dedicated servers ;)
