But seriously, we need to do our best as a community to make them feel at home. This is of utmost importance for the survival of this game in the long run, and it's something that is almost entirely in our hands the moment UWE ships. Us vets got to set the standard, you know.

I'm just pumped for the peeps who race into com chair and start spamming Turrets and hundreds of power packs. Gonna be soooo funny.
Also, I'm pretty sure most rookies will be intimidated by the idea of commanding at first, so the bigger difficulty will be winning games with aliens :P. I predict the alien win rate is going to plummet hard the first few days of release at least, until all these new players fully grasp the mechanics

Seriously, though, let us try out best not to scare off every new player by being jerks. Eating them is one thing, but yelling at a rookie that jumps into com chair is not cool. Let the guy do his best, and try to help. Gonna suck, sure, but hey, I think we all want this game to be successful.

I'd rather new players just not jump into com chair, they have so much to learn beforehand that they can gain just by playing the game as either an alien or marine. If you have a bad comm, everyone on the team is going to pay the price AND newer players are gonna have a bad experience cause they have a bad comm. Soooo experienced players RUSH TO THE CHAIR! IT IS UP TO YOU!
Not all of them will be noobs. I doubt the game will be hard to master for everyone. The teams that are good now, will probably end up with a lot more competition come a months time.
As much as I like playing Aliens, I don't think I'll be able to handle the noob invasion in the first few days, especially on the alien side where it's much harder for people to know how to use the lifeforms correctly (e.g. even I'm still sort of "learning" lerk after quite a few hours in the game).
Considering I don't have patience sometimes, I'm guessing it'll be bad...

Its harder than you think highlander, trust me I've been doing it for years and i am still finding it stressful. It depends on your underlings, if they are pushy or dont follow orders, your day is not going to be fun. Aww u got inb4me Nice pic :P
As one of these "noobs" I have been trying to take in as much content as I can(i.e. youtube and streams). I will try my best not to screw up to bad and can't wait to play with you all in game!

Don't worry about screwing up, we all do, even still! Can't wait to see you around in-game! Get ready for one helluva experience! :)
its gonna be frustrating for sure for all of us vets but we got to remember that every bad action will reflect poorly on the whole community, we need to have patience, be helpful and understanding and put our ego aside. some of these new players will be the reviewers and you dont want that review to say that the community are a bunch of a**holes.
Imagine how good it will be to teach these guys and in a couple of weeks from now they will be just like us falling in love with this game and enjoying the company they are with. It would be fun to have that big player base for years to come instead of getting stuck with the people who basiclly made everyone else leave YES am looking at some of you guys who are still playing NS1!
ps. we gotta recommend to use a mic and "C" for all new players. specially using a mic as a new commander to easly help them thru the game if they ask questions.

Same boat as you, I have been watching videos for a while now I think once I get into a few games I can get the hang of it won't be commanding anytime soon, but that just because I like alien side the best it fits my more sneaky nature. ;)
Bah... Its gonna be nice guys. Finally I can give people advice without them responding: "#### you, your wrong and I know how to play this game better than you... Go kill yourself."
I will happily be spending all my time Alien trying to teach people how to command and play the more difficult life forms.

Be easy on us. I have no idea what the black armor is. I played Natural Selection for about 2 years straight. It was about 8 years ago tho. Loved it, no idea why I stopped.
Haven't looked but, I hope my $25 go toward the devs of original mod.

Black Armoured players are like gods. They aim better, move better, even own you with an axe better. Black armour is OP! Be very very afraid! ;)
Nice to actually have Black Armour now it's starting to pay off now, newbs will be looking up to me and be jealous. I remember alpha when everybody was Black Armour or Beta where there was plenty of them. And of course you can't forget the Eternal Gratitude from devs, only Special Edition got that.

Same, which is why i dont understand people who are beta players insist upon "guiding" people or hand holding. I already know everything about the game...and i havent played it. Its nice to be welcomed by vets and ty, but people dont always need their hand held.
