Send a guest pass?

Today I saw in the stam page of NS2 the link to "send a guest pass", that goes to my wallet.

Is it something it will be added (for example a week period of game that I can send to my friend) or is the free copy i got?

I never saw it before.

If you pre ordered the game they mailed you a free CD key which is another copy of the game to give to a friend
