<div class="IPBDescription">Been a long time....</div>Little background on myself. Played this game pretty hardcore in college. If I am not mistaken, came out in late 2002. Played it a ton. Can't imagine how many hours. Played in many clan matches with the "AI" clan. Man, would be great to run into some of the old members. But of course, once out of college, didn't touch it as much. About 2 years ago finally built another gaming PC. Got hooked into Black Ops (use the same screen name). Kept an eye out for this to be released.
I've been waiting for this for a really long time. I haven't played the demos or anything, probably been 8 years since i've played, so I am excited to download and start playing tonight.
With that said, no COM or gorge for me tonight :-) I go back to being a nub (even though I probably have 1000+ hours of this game under my belt).
Look forward to chatting with you fine folks. Enjoy the game!

You sir have changed how I look at my time in NS1 as alien!
welcome back!
Man, seriously. I always picked gorge cause I couldnt kill ###### with any other lifeform.
It was always gratifying building a base near Marine base for onos and fades to go heal and regen adrenaline. that last rush dropping OCs was also pretty satisfying. I guess I was a competent gorge after all!
Also, red room fort, nuff said.
Edit: Oh, hi infect!
In NS1, I LOVED being gorge. The key was staying alive and holding the res towers. Capping hives wasn't as important, right away, as capping res. As alien, if you didn't have a good gorge it was going to be a quick match. I enjoyed being gorge more than Marine COM.
Got 4 hours in last night....and kinda sad to see that the gorge isn't the powerhouse it used to be. I DO NOT like the limit of 3 offensive towers. I think it should be higher, maybe 10 like the defensive towers. I know, they ain't towers, i'll get the terms down soon enough.
However, I jumped into COM on both sides. I got right out of the Marine Com because I was lost. WAY too much going on, need to go into explore mode and practice. I played a round as Alien COM and did well. Once I realized what the cysts were, it was over. I just spead cysts up both sides of the map, let the marines feel like they could take middle all day. Before they knew it, we had 3 Onos and "growth" right up to the marine base.
And you need to know the hotkeys to play COM. Got those down pretty quickly with Alien COM.
I can tell that NS2 puts even more on the COMs than NS1. There is more going on, bigger maps that are spread out, more tunnels for the skulls to get places quicker, needing to use the cysts to spread to res sites, etc etc etc etc. As always, if you don't know what you are doing DON'T BE COM!
