New place to play

Hi guys, I'm HideNSeek :)

Just bought Natural Selection 2 yesterday, and I can't get enough of it (I'm an addict :>)

Anyway, just came here to say that this game is really awesome, haven't played a game like this for quite a while.

Unfortunately, nothing can be 100% perfect, so is this game..

10 Minutes ago, I joined a game, we were losing because the enemy was teaming up and escorting 2 exo suits. Me, being a rookie player, I grabbed a skulk, got the upgrade to "melt" with the environment and hung from the ceiling.. After one exo fell, but the other killed 2 of our assassins (Name??) I leaped down and killed an exo :D Best moment of my NS2 experience so far, 5 seconds after that, the game crashed :(

I'm getting this very often.. I play 10-20 minutes and the game crashes, or doesn't respond and it asks me to fill in some report.

I hope this gets fixed, nothing is wrong with my PC.

We hope you enjoy the game and get many more good experiences. Hang out on the rookie servers (green names) for a while until you feel more comfortable, they should be full of newer players as well and won't leave you feeling as overpowered (generally). Good job on killing the exo! I always try to congratulate new players on a server who get an exo kill, because it can be really difficult as a skulk.

The assassins are called Fades, and that's really a great description of what they are supposed to do. Then you've got Lerk, Gorge, and Onos--all playing different roles and supporting each other.

If you want to try commanding/khamanding, you should use the Explore mode first to learn the commander UI and try building all of the buildings and tech trees. Then once you get comfortable with that hop in the chair/hive on a rookie server, newer players will be more forgiving.

I'm sorry the game is unstable for you at the moment! That really shouldn't be the case. Some players have had lots of crashing as well, but UWE has been progressively fixing bugs and making it more stable for the past several months. I've only had a handful of crashes over months of play. Please head over to the technical support forum and post what's happening, along with the technical specs of your computer, and someone should be able to help. Your computer may be fine, but there could be some unique combination of driver issues or settings that is conflicting with this game, and those guys should be able to help you track it down.

How do I start the Explore mode?

Also, in explore mode, am I able to morph into every creature / use every weapon, to get used to them or not?

The exo kill could've been luck, I don't know :D He was trying to hit me but I ran around him and held down the left mouse button

It's a great feeling when something mighty falls to you lesser lifeform. I always grin when I manage to take an Onos, Fade or Exo down. :)

When you click "Play", there are multiple tabs at the top of the screen. One of them should say "Explore." I don't remember if it lets you evolve right away, or if you have to research it within the game. The shortcut is to open the console by pressing the ~ key, then type in "cheats 1", then the name of the life form you want to become. Type "onos" for onos, etc. As a marine, do the same thing but type "give weapon" where weapon is the name of what you want. E.g. give shotgun/flamethrower/jetpack/exo.

Alright, thanks mate. I'll try to use the explore mode even though I can only use it for 10-20 minutes before crash ^_^

Any fix for that soon? Sometimes I can't even pre cache. Why don't they go back to an older build where everything seemed to work for everyone?

Crashes "should" be fixed in the next patch.
And well done in playing the skulk as its ment to in your first game, most new people just rush in and get emselfs killed :)
