Breakable glass/changing the environment

Hi,

On maps there are few places covered with glass like windows, glass walls or doors. None of them can be broken. I thought that it would be fun if we could break some glass, change few places a bit.

Of course glass is just one thing. I thought about water. There could be some broken pipes on some map and valves that can start and stop water flowing in pipes. Water could overcome invisibility. There could be even a small waterfall covering whole path that will help get aliens visible and also make a wall that we can cross but we can't see troughout it.

One more: broken mechanisms. For example doors that won't open until we will repair them with welder. It would be similar to welding tunnels to close them in NS1.

    Love this idea.
    Allowing aliens to sabotage doors in an ambush, and creates fun crescendo moments where you have to fix a door to escape etc.

    Some history:

    * Water is coming, but was pushed to post-v1.0 and deemed not critical. But definitely on this TODO list.
    * Glass is kinda a polish point. NS1 glass you just ran around clearing it all ASAP. Same with other games with breakable glass like Counter-Strike. It doesn't really change the gameplay that much imo, especially for the long round times of NS2. Nice to have, but def low priority for me.
    * Welding shut doors, bashing them in, disabling with infestation, all have been posulated. There's even a lovely concept drawn up in this forum. But it will need a lot of work and potentially redesign of the maps. Again, nice to have and forward looking probably something they'll incorporate.

    In theory, yes. But I can't recall the last time I saw that used both gameplaywise and in a map.

    Then again, never did try welding ANY of the doors shut....
