<div class="IPBDescription">Ns_bgh</div> Just started a new ns map, loosely based on the layout of BGH from starcraft, any suggestions would be helpfull, and ill try to get some screenies up within the week
Thus, maps should be totally original... although nobody can stop you from making it, it certainly won't get considered for official inclusion. sure, but some of the sounds are ripped from it or at least sounds nearly exactly the same and besides i said following that layout, it wont be an exact copy, its going to be more of a space station theme
No sounds were ripped from Starcraft. Sounds that sound similar to ones from games/movies is because they purchased a proffesional sound effects library that is used in both movies and games.
I was watching this really bad film with Leslie Neilson in it, called 'Dracula: Dead and Loving It.' There was this scene where he climbs through the window, and the sound effect for him opening the window was IDENTICAL to the one used in NS for when the Marines spawn. No joke!

BGH? Well that takes out a lot of the strategy, such as expanding and holding resource towers while taking down theirs. BGH in Starcraft was the bane of all maps... build for an hour, attack for an hour.... now that's what I call boring......
give him a break guys... you guys say ns is not sc... so whats wrong with making the map... think about it your right they are both different so even if the maps were the same the way u play them wouldnt be... i say go for it mate dont let these cynical **obscenity** ruin it for you
I dont think it would be that exciting, because in starcraft you have a chance of getting more people than the other person before he doesn... but in NS you have the same amount no matter what, seems to me like a "BGH" map would be a big huge long stalemate that would last hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours.. and more hours. PLUS BGH is outdoors and there is to be NO outdoor maps because then commander makes no sense unless you are completely ignorant.
I dont see why everyone seems to harp on CS and SC whenever someone wants to bring up an idea that is similar to thiers, both are great games, CS was and is revolutionary and fun its team based tactical shooting . SC was the next command and Conquer. and they both have heavy influances on this game. BGH is not a ban on SC, its a blessing for the players who just want to have some carnal destruction, building for that hour gives you the hour of pure viceral joy as you and your enemys shred each others armys. NS is niether game, but that doesnt mean you cant learn from thier successes, obviously people enjoy them in droves for a reason and incorporating some of thier drawing power into NS can only lead to a fuller, and probably healthier community.

If you have any common decency, don't screw up NS by making this map.
please be sure to tell field commanders that they make no sense except for the completely ignorant. Outdoor maps are discouraged because they dont fit the designers vision, that doesnt mean they cant be done in character, overhead view? how about satalite uplink? Teleporting items from thin air?
