turrets are fine very late game when u have nowhere to spend your res with. even dropping exos. but they are completely not fine to get with in the situations other than very late game. aliens with teamwork can tear down it in seconds or they could avoid it. there is just too many options to deal with it. basically spending res on turrets is a huge hamper on tech process except if you are swimming in res, which you have won anyway so you can do whatever you want.
however, i also think that it is comm's responsibility to make the game fun. just like in old ns, <u><b>turret farming in choke points and two hive lock down, is definitely not fun</b></u>

Actually Marines can quite easily lock aliens into 1 hive with turret + phase gate + armoury + mine spam in all tech points (especially easy on veil) and then just arc spam the aliens last hive (they cant get bile bomb to kill your arcs).
Not fun but works stupidly well if you catch the aliens off guard...
Gorge spit really needs to do 2x building dmg to counter the ludicrousness of this strategy.

Not really... taking the "alien hive" is hard, attacking the aliens growing hive is quite easy. Spending all your res, having taken their second hive location, on a rush on their last hive gives them time to eat your phase gates and free up their second hive location again. Turret locking the entire map down and turtling to ###### traps them with 1 hive and thus virtually no way to counter your turrets and mine spam.
