Team captains plug-in

<div class="IPBDescription">Server side</div>Idea is simple instead of current random you set up a forum for picking teams.

Game play would be as follows

1st - 75% of players "vote captains". Captains mode is engaged players are unable to leave RR
2nd - captain vote menu pops up and players can vote for captains.
3rd- 2 players are designated as captains and given option of choose team or pick first
4th- captains are placed on teams and turn by turn allowed to select a player out of ready room into their team.
5th- game starts only when both captains say ready.
6th- 1of2 things happens. Either plugin ends and players that join server are free to join any team, or plugin continues and captains are still the only ones that can allow players to join.

I suggested in a separate thread that a pro- server should be created, with this added to that players who frequent would get to know each other and competitive pick-up games would create a pretty cool community for clan players and skilled pub players alike



I'd love to do this if I could but well I wouldn't know where to start.

    I was just thinking about this idea for pub servers, except instead of having captains voted, maybe have it based on whomever enters the comm chair/hive. This way the commanders get to choose the team they are going to play with. (It would also be great to plugin the "hive" data so the commanders can at least see some stats on the players before they choose them, and maybe even force a "trade player option" to make sure the teams are balanced based on skill points) It would also encourage people to jump into the command chair, as they will be the ones who get to pick the teams.

    My vision is that once the commanders have been selected, the commanders are presented with a window that allows them to see the current team layout as well as those who haven't joined yet. This window lets the commanders select, first, from the players who haven't joined yet, and then allows the team that has a skill deficit of a certain threshold (maybe 100 or more) to trade lower skilled players for higher skilled players on the other team until the deficit is brought under the threshold. (The threshold could be modified for each server) While the commanders are picking teams, the players get to see the window as the commanders make their choices and can, via chat, make their opinions heard.

    I would suspect, just like the ENSL team matchup system, that we would need to implement a timer for the commanders to make their choices, and if the time runs out with players unassigned, then the rest of the players either get random assigned, or they get the freedom to choose via the RR.

    Pro Tip: Play on Tactical Gamer or run the TGNS mod. already has all of this and more.
