Anyone else having red plug/ping issues with WRT54GL router since 11/02 patch?

So since the November 2nd game patch, whenever i join a game my ping raises to 999, then I get the Reg Plug symbol, then after a little bit my game freezes and I have to forcefully close it.
Anyone else have this problem that has a Linksys WRT54GL router?
I know its a router problem because I bypassed the router and the game worked fine. I also tried disabling the router firewall, forwarding all the ports, and resetting the router, and nothing worked accept completely bypassing the router. I also tested all my cables, reinstalled the game, and updated the router to the latest firmware, Ver 4.30.14 to Ver 4.30.15. On some servers that are empty or have a low amount of players, my game has worked for a bit, but if more players join or if I'm on a 16+ player server, I get the red plug problem. There are also no consistent errors in the console when the problem happens.
Edit:
After installing the dd-wrt firmware, then buying a new router and still having the same problem, I figured out it was my RCA DCM425 modem that was the cause. After I reset the power on the modem, I have not had any more problems (while using either router).
