Power Nodes

Are the devs happy with the power system?

I hate it when I move into a new room just to find an extractor/power node combo and then have to decide whether to stand still for 1 min munching on a static object hoping a marine doesn't come around the corner and then hope I still have enough energy left to leap away. Or I have to sit facing a node for 30 secs welding at a wall when I want to be shooting at aliens.

    That is the whole point of them, tactically you need to decide whether or not take to out the node/repair or just to move on. As a marine the long repair time makes you want to protect the node moreso and with alien you know how long it takes them to repair so it makes you want to chew on it longer. I think its great. If you want fast paced run in and die then go play COD, if you want tactics then play NS2.

    You really ought to be munching on the extractor, not the node... If you take out the extractor, you've cost the marines the res to re-drop it. If you take out the power node, you haven't cost the marines anything (they're free to replace).

    ^ Not to mention the extractor offers greater survivability since its usually better positioned and easier to hide behind.


    As for nodes, I dont like them and think that with the current mad good bilebomb you dont really need them to break turtles.
