Constant lag spikes

Are there any adjustments I can make in the options to smooth out this game. I get bad lag spikes about every 30 seconds and my latency jumps 200+. I'll be in a server where my settled latency is about 50-60. Just looking for any suggestions. Love the game, hate the inconsistency in my gameplay.

    latency usually has to do with your internet + the internet of the server + distance from server. The game usually has little to do with that number. Perhaps you have some program in the background spiking the internet with data(windows media player is common for this especially if it has any music in its library with no cover art)

    Is it the same on all servers? are you playing on servers close to you or just picking em at random? Anyone else on your internet? I.E. someone who might be leaving a torrent downloading program online while there at work/sleeping/ect =p
