If you don't know the maps, it's impossible to see what is LOS blocking and what is not. This leads to new commanders (and even some more experienced ones) placing buildings poorly.
Making the comm view at a slight angle would also allow for multi level mas.
Then they have to re-design the invisible shenannigans for comms.
Comms can see through the roof by default, if they made it slanted, then they'd have to to do the mojo so that certain parts of walls were see-throughable, and then I can only imagine what sort of nightmare that would be.

Might be possible to just have a flat plane as the "cut off point", and tilt it as necessary to get some walls, too.
Of course, this won't work for maps with too much elevation variances...
