CD-Key Already Claimed.

I bought NS2 prior to it being on Steam and played in the beta which netted me Deluxe Edition + a free copy of Standard NS2 when I went to give the key to a friend it said it had already been redeemed BUT I had I just reclaimed it from the site today so that's not possible.

I could use some help with this problem, thanks.

What you redeemed on the site is YOUR key. For the free NS2 copy you have to go in your inventory in Steam, and give your NS2 Gift to your friend.

No, when I hit redeem its a cd key for Standard, and it says its been used already but I have never used it, and I dont have a copy in my steam account either.

You wouldn't have been given a key to give to your friend.

You would have gone to "Manage Gift & Guest Passes" and have used the "Send Gift" button to send the gift copy to your friend. Did you maybe redeem the gift copy on your account?

You have NS2 in your Steam Library? And how many copies did you bought before?
If only one, you already activated it yes, and you have to give your gift in "Manage Gift & Guest Passes" menu in Steam.

If you bought more than one, then try with another email perhaps? :x
If you bought two copies of the game with the same email, I don't know how the redeem tool works so... perhaps it shows only one?

I just bought one copy of NS2 ages ago which gained me beta access, deluxe edition and ONE free copy NS2 standard, and I had never used my free copy to give to a friend yet it says the CD-Key has already been used.

It's totally normal because, like we say, the free copy does not come in a mail, or isn't a CD-Key, it's a Gift in Steam. And you can see that Gift in the menu "Manage Gift & Guest Passes".
The CD-Key you are giving to your friend is the Key you already used to get NS2 in your Steam account.

Never got a copy in steam as a gift.

Well, make sure you have nothing in your "Manage Gift & Guest Passes" menu, and make sure you really had the beta access.
If you really don't have the gift in your account, contact hugh@unknownworlds.com , he will certainly know more than me on what has to be done in that case :/

Just checked my pending gifts and gift history again to make sure, it was not there. Thank you, I will try contacting hugh@unknownworlds.com.
Also, I was in the beta, I played in it.

Still waiting on help, I emailed humble bundle and UWE and was just ignored.
