<div class="IPBDescription">I have some ideas.</div>Being a staunch supporter of Hivesight, I don't see why some changes can't be made to the new Pheromone System to make it work similar.

1) Keep the yellow outlines around Marines, but change the color around fellow aliens. Maybe a shade of glowing purple?

2) Keep the current Marine sight limits, but make it to where you can see your fellow aliens anywhere on the map. If an alien is being attacked have their purple outline change to red.

3) Give the Hives, Harvesters, and upgrade chambers the same or similar purple outline that also pulse red when being attacked. Keeping the alien side all purple will help players associate that color with freindly while yellow will always be enemy.

4) Given how many cysts, whips, crags, shifts, and shades can be placed it would be best to not give them an outline. Though maybe a red pulsing star could flash when a cyst is being attacked.

5) As far as what the aliens and structures will look like far away, maybe use something similar to how a star looks in the sky. As you get closer to the target it will shift into the proper outline of the life form or structure.

One of the things that I do like about the current outline system is that you can tell which way a marine is facing allowing you to plan your ambush better.

The Khamm placing a marker on the ground is great and all, but I feel that if I see something flashing red on my screen it will grab my attention more then having to rely on the Khamm who may or may not notice when something is being attacked.

Also, to add. No, I don't have a problem with opening the map, but I would like to see something like this implemented anyway.
