Gamespot released a rather poor quality review of NS2 which gave it a 6 out of rating. You can see that here.
There was an outcry on their comments - both because they made multiple mistakes in the review, but in general it was just poor quality, badly written, and inconsistent with their other reviews. Quite frankly gamespot isn't very good anymore and they're sort of ######s for the big publishers like the rest of the game review industry and they'd have rated it a 9/10 if it was activision filling their pockets to review it, but it wasn't, so they did a poor half-assed job writing the review.
Anyway, there was enough of an outcry that, for the time being, they removed their score from the review. The gamespot score, listed at the top right, is now "--".
Here's the thing - the outlier review has significantly lowered the metacritic score of NS2. And for a new game without a lot of publicity, reviews are one of the key components in getting people to give the game a try. Metacritic score is important, especially to a young game without much marketing. And since there are only 6 professional reviews for metacritic to draw a score from, the 60 rating from gamespot has lowered the overall metacritic rating significantly.
At the very least, metacritic should remove gamespot's score from the aggregated reviews, since gamespot themselves have removed their scores. But metacritic probably isn't going to notice this is happening. Which is where we can help. You can contact the metacritic editorial staff by using the e-mail editorial@metacritic.com - tell them to remove gamespot's review score from the aggregate. If enough of us write about it, they'll probably take notice.
Otherwise, if you have a gamespot forum registration, post on their forums about it. If you want to share your opinion of gamespot's review, you can contact their editorial department here gsincoming@cbsinteractive.com
Just figured I'd give the community a heads up. I want to do my part to help this game get popular, and an unfair metacritic rating based on a poor quality review will hurt that.

Well normally they wouldn't and also it was a freelancer who wrote the review not a GS reviewer

Also, metacritic is not an automated system. Once a new score gets released I am sure it will be fixed up.
