Hearing The Other Team's Voice Chat When Dead...

<div class="IPBDescription">This is NOT a bug...</div> I keep seeing people complaining that there is a bug in that when you die and are in spectator mode, you can hear the enemy team's voice chat.

However, on closer inspection, this seems to be you hearing other *spectators* that are dead just like you, and just happen to be opposing team members.

Really, since your own team can't hear you when you die and are a spectator, and the other team's dead members could, there's really no reason to talk then.

When you are dead, you can communicate with other dead people and spectators, only.

More often than not when I'm dead I can still talk to the players on my team. Maybe it's only when you are currently reincarnating since that's not technically dead. When you fade to black, there is a short period of time when you can type and your team will still see it (I usually type "command hive!!!!!" or something like that). However, voice chat cuts out as soon as you die, and both are restricted to spectators/other dead people when your view switches to chase-cam.

on several occasions in 1.02 i have been able to both team chat and talk to all players while dead, just the same as if i were alive. I was told numerous things, "cut it out they can't hear you" "yes we can", "it's a bug" and "it's a server setting", but i still do not know how it works. I'm just content to let it lie as one of those things that can go either way

it would be helpful if the chat message turned grey when my team can't see it anymore... the way it is now i never know if they got it or not.

    doesnt REIN stand for reinforcements?

i really like how they've got the voice and chat set up in this game... although I do miss the sv_alltalk option for those cozier games.
