Gimme some consent and a drawback, and you're in. For instance, why not have a Lerk and a Gorge each be able to request a merging, which then would cost each a chunk of pres, and result in a flying creature where the Lerk is the pilot and the Gorge is the gunner with Bile Bomb and Spit. However, they cannot split, the Lerk cannot latch onto walls anymore, and the Gorge can neither heal nor build.

Edit: Oh, and the Lerk would obviously lose it's advanced abilities too. Maybe it can still bite, but I'd already be kind of sceptic about spikes in terms of balance. ....Now that I think of it, this gives me the idea of Gorges merging with Skulk to be kind of a back-mounted cannon........Naaaaah. :D
