Phase gates

<div class="IPBDescription">A window to the other side</div>How cool would it be to see through the phase gate to where you are going (like a distorted semi transparent window"....running up to a PG to see a distorted onos running up to the pg on the other side, "oh no".

Would also give an alien reason to turn off hive sight since he wouldn't be able to spy through a pg, also would no give alien to much of an advantage since you see where the pg is going no where its coming from. This means that if you have more then 2 PGs a chomping skulk wouldn't see a rin headed his way.....

This would be neat. Does Spark support this sort of thing? It isn't that hard to implement in source and UE3

If you go so far as to make it a real portal, how would you explain aliens not being able to enter it? Or maybe they should be able to?

That was something the TSA instantly fixed after a huge massacre on a mining ship. The aliens would use the Phase Gates just as the Marines, easily overrunning base after base - Once it was over, they responded immediately by re-programming the pg's internal computer to not accept just ANY material. Now, the gates run a quick scan before phasing; if the lifeform trying to pass contains too much of the Bacterium, it refuses to work.

    There you go.

Haha this really happened in NS1. Does anyone else remember when PG allowed aliens teleporting and losing a forward base and not recycling could lead to a swarm of aliens in the HQ? Good times.
