Where can I see the planned development schedule?

I was wondering if there was a timeline for the planned development. I wanted to know what kind of features the devs were working on.

e.g. linux support, welding doors shut, etc. Does such a thing exist? Even if it's not a timeline, but a list of things in order of importance to the devs, that would be cool to see.

Thanks.

There used to be a tracker but that has been broken for a while.

The tracker is unlikely to return. Just look at twitter and facebook for updates on things and of course the news page.

That's a good developer tracker. Don't miss a single piece of news with it!

Its a good post tracker, but UWE used to have a tracker that showed individual game changes, their progress and when they were to be released. Was very snazzy.

each developper works on whatever they want most of the time so there isn't any official timeline or any strict plan. That's just how they work and i find it kind of cool

This was in the game during beta and taken out as it would believed to be more harmful to marines then aliens.

I think now the game is out, the development roadmap is unlikely to return.

Pre-release there was a core set of features that everybody knew would make it to release, and a shifting set of features that where possible aims for release. These where important to publicly track during the development time where development was mostly community funded and the games future was less certain; now we have the game in a v1.0 state, it would be much more of a headache than a boon.

A big part of development is going to be reactionary, responding to balance issues, bugs, and small features in patches like the ones we've been seeing this week, who's purposes change form day to day to address the community. The only thing to come out of making this public would probably be knee-jerk reactions to balance changes that aren't even out of the door.

The larger task of developing new features and content would probably either come up as "Secret surprise update we can't reveal yet" (for new maps and so forth) and "delayed feature we can't rightly attach a release date to" (for first person spectator views or anti-cheat)

Both of these benifit more from a done-when-it's-done approach and I wouldn't ever like to see them displayed as a bunch of promises to be broken or a list of features for the community to speculate/###### about before being implimented

IMO I would like to see a more obvious 'what we are working on' area of the front page, that just gives a broad topic. Such as "Anti-cheat" or "New Maps". At the moment this info is out there but fragmented. I think off the top of my head some aspect anti-cheat is due soon, gameplay additions to at least the aliens are in development, and one or two maps. in whatever order they might come.
