Now, I have read the suggestions about putting multiple things into the same thread and to not do it for the sake of merging and stuff, but from my brief searches of the forums, I haven't found something similar, or on topic, so...
I would like to suggest some (semi sweeping) changes to the marine weapons and armory.
<ul><li>Reduce the cost of the shotgun to 10 (same as the alien evolution to gorge), reduce its damage (to put out similar but slightly higher dps as the assault rifle), a slightly faster reload, and have it immediately researched. </li><li>A new shotgun that can be researched, costs 25 res for purchase, +50-75% clip size and fire rate (to make it an "auto" shotgun), with a clip reload.</li><li>A new LMG/AR type weapon that also costs 25 res, slightly lower fire rate but higher damage per bullet (resulting in a slightly higher dps that the AR), 2.5X clip size and a slightly longer reload.</li><li>Both upgraded weapons is researched from the same upgrade from the basic armory, upgrade costs 40 res, with a time similar to that of the original shotgun research. upgrade stays if armories are destroyed.</li><li>An upgrade that increases the amount of ammo carried by one clip, can be upgraded 3 times, once from the basic and twice from the advanced armories. cost 30/40/60 res, second upgrade requires 2 command chairs, 3rd requires 3. upgrades stay as long as there is at least an armory. If all armories are destroyed, lvl 1 stays.</li><li> handcannon, enough said</li><li> oh, and how hard would it be to put iron-sights? just curious.</li></ul>
numbers are just nice round numbers that sounded about right, but probably should be changed for balancing and whatnot.
what do you all think?
