"Small" details - we like them

lifeform eggs dropped by the commander or morphing eggs must show a resemblance to the embryo they contain for example onos egg: big bulky horned egg.

certain life form upgrades must affect the model of the unit, this way it would be notable by the marine side which upgrades they are dealing with:

my examples based on my imagination.
- carapace: extra bone armor covering the body
- celerity: more agile looking leg models or somekind of semi wing like a zergling with speed upgrade
- adrenaline: yellow sacks placed on certain places of the body
- regeneration: green sacks on certain places of body.

silence and camo does not really need new modeling.

this topic also points a good idea:

for marine part

damage and armor upgrades must have visible signs on the unit. in the current build the sound of the weapon changes but its barely notable.

for the rifle
-damage 1 upgrade; longer barrel
-damage 2 upgrade; a cosmetic lasser pointer
-damage 3 upgrade; a bayonett which also replaces the melee

armor upgrades may add further fortifications to the marine combat suit like face guard, shoulder pads, chest guard etc etc.

i appreciate your suggestions as well thanks for reading!

this may also apply to exo suits.

Nonsense! Here's what silence skulk should be :D

In all seriousness though, these are some good ideas, but with all of the outstanding issues that need to be worked on, time spent on this right now would divert too much time from other stuff. I wouldn't mind seeing alternate lifeform models for different upgrades further down the road though.

I am against the idea of having distinguished eggs. Marines shouldn't be told at which eggs to aim when they enter a Hive area - the mass of eggs has to create a diversion for the important eggs.

However, I heard that UWE wanted to implement proper transparency into the engine at some point. Once that is done, you are supposed to have slightly transparent eggs where you can see the embryo moving inside if something is in that egg. And the movement is supposed to resemble the camera direction of the player in the egg, so if a marine is near to that egg, you better not look around or they will notice that something is inside that egg.
