This game was far easier to balance when only one team had a commander. Face it, marines require teamwork and aliens require little. In NS1, both teams required teamwork to succeed but in different ways. You needed competent gorges just as marines needed a competent commander. In NS2, you only have one team that relys on competent "leadership". Of course the other team wins easier. I really wish they'd move back to a no commander model. The argument is that what if you have sucky Gorges or a lackthereof? Well, what happens when you have a sucky commander or a lackthereof?
Wishful thinking, I suppose. They've invested too much effort into designing the alien commander. I do have a lot of fun with him, but he's far more of a caretaker than a commanding role.
