Commander, society problem

I want talk about society problem with commander.

Shortly:
1) The group of people, i guess friends on official servers who kick you from commander chair with no reason after 10 seconds and talk somethig like "dont f**** nickname' or something like that. It's so annoying.

2) When game is staring i want be a commander but mayby somebody else want be too. Time is also important in game so decision should be make as fast as possible so i running to hive/station, who is fast then win. But i don't wont be selfish. Mayby somebody want have fun too. It other situation somebody is faster then me.

3) I like playing as commander and first person shooter but more often as commander because i prefer strategy games. It's really tiring to join to servers one by one. Game is druring the game so commander was chosen. Even if the game is just startign somebody can run into hive before me. That's ok but sometimes i want play only commander and nothing else. I spent so many time to start game as commander. Mayby about 50% of the game! It's too much!

Solution?
a) list of server should have information about how long game is in progress. Even in first person shooter i prefer fresh game, not game after 15 minuts, so in my opinion it's so important information.

b) As a player i should choose i want play as commander or first person shooter before the game. And because of this choice list of servers should change. Should be filter for that.

c) The commander should be selected before the game start.

d) I can imagine i click "play as alien commander" and i see window "game is searching" and after 2 minuts i can play as commander and i am happy :) Easy and make people happy.

I fortot about one more important think.

Game is starting to early, even 3vs2 players. I never lose game in that case as alien commander. Marines don't have any change in that case, they need more people to balance game. Should be something like option "start when minimum 4 players". It's so funny when server is almost full and somebody told "wait for more people", then 3 players who don't care join to aliens and marines and start game... after that game is unsense and allbody quit form server.

The start of the game is a little confuse. It's no clear. I am always not sure when i am joining to fresh server it's before start or after. I have to look i can sit into commander chair and click tab to see comander is choosen. Then i know game not started yet.

    Biggest problem with commander selection is that there is hardly any time to talk as a team before a the match starts.

    I feel that all these complaints about "aliens being OP" stems from the issue that you describe. Sometimes pubs go without a marine commander for 15-30 seconds! That's devastating.

    Not starting the game until both commanders are chosen is a great idea.

    The best way to get in the command chair easy is to stick to a server or two and become known by its player base. If you're good most people will be like "Oh hey are you going to comm?"

    This might be what you are running to, and I have had experience with myself, where a group of people, whether server regulars or just from a prior session, decide that they want one person to be their commander.

    So, keep working at it, and always say, Hey I'd like to comm this round as it's my preferred play option.

    I have a gem of an idea called <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=124406" target="_blank">Commander Selection Phase</a>. It's more than just extra time, and it includes built-in rankings to make things easier.

    I wish some ppl would talk it up so it could gain some recognition, because IMHO I think it's worthy.
