NS2 crashes on startup

Hi,
So it seems i cant start the game anymore. It just immediatelly crashes, when i try to start it via steam.
Even a full reinstallation via steam, did not fix it.
And now im clueless what to do.
It really did come out of the blue here.
I did not change my system at all.
No new software installs or anything.
Well recently i put in a GTX 660 instead of my old HD 4890,
but i assume that is unrelated as it worked fine with either card.
Only the GTX 660 appears to have some micro stutter problems with NS2.
Anyway maybe someone has an idea how to get it running properly again....
