Spectate commanders

Ability to cycle to commander view while in spectator mode. Very useful for learning the tricks a good commander uses.

Yeah, someday I wonder this possibility, our commander was very good but couldnt see how is his play... that would be neat

that is a good suggestion.
but on the other hand: you already see everything he does.

You see all upgrades (start to finish), all buildings placed, medpacks spent etc.
and the spectator mode is already like the commander point of view.

I think it would be a good feature to implement. Although it seems you can just watch some videos of good commanders playing and get the same effect.

NS2 gameplay changes with each update so I'm unsure about watching 'old' videos.

Usually the build number is in the top left of the screen, on lower quality it is a tad bit unreadable, but there is of couse the upload date of a video, which gives you a vague idea as well which build it was. And some people have the build number in the thumbnail/title/tags buildxxx or bxxx

Also, why the hell hasn't UWE included first person spectating? It is basic and absolutely vital for a competetive FPS game. Can you spectate friendlies in 3rd person in tourney games? Imagine if you were allowed to do that in counter strike... Also 1st person is more fun and interesting to watch
