I have wondering longtime why ambient sounds + exo firing will cause hitching. My NS2 is installed to SSD Samsung 830 and ramdisk didn't help at all..
Good example, when exo start firing first bullet you get microlag:

<a href="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=114903731" target="_blank">http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=114903731</a>
Ambient lag:

<u>There is 2 easy solutions to get rid of these:</u>
1. Disable your sound card from Device manager and lags are gone
2. Remove sound banks, example when I removed minigun.fsb (this include exo firing sounds):
<a href="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=114906322" target="_blank">http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=114906322</a>
<a href="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=114906295" target="_blank">http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=114906295</a>
One real fix could be updated sound banks "Bank Type: load into memory". I bet the problem is that they always get loaded from HDD (when needed) and thats why they will give some lag. So precache them
Minigun sound bank, which contain exo firing sounds:

These sound banks are only "stream from disk"

<i>Just wondering that you finally published the ns2 project file (NS2.fdp) but I don't have any luck to change events or add new banks... every time ns2.fev have an error. Now you could do the tutorial like<a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=118938&view=findpost&p=1948334" target="_blank"> simon promised</a> :p</i>
