Best way to sell MORE copies of NS2

(1) Gift button DIRECTLY from the steam NS2 game page as a giant big "GIFT" button

(2) Special gift price for permantly $14 or so... more distribution the better IMO make gifting the #1 way NS2 copies are moved
because the community is relatively small compared to say the LOL community (which of course is free so no one has to gift anything)

You can already gift people games on Steam. Everyone knows this.

The last games I remember to make TF2 crossovers probably suffered more from it than it benefited them. Hat-obsessed people came into the game, posted stuff like "lol, game sux, I am here for hats", didn't bother to learn it, ruined the experience for the established community during the first two weeks after the promotion started and eventually left after ravaging everything. Just every now and then do you see another hat guy who wasn't there with the original flood.

I feel sorry for the developers of those games.

What game page? The Steam game page? Because everyone already knows that when you go to check out you pick whether or not to buy it as a gift and if you already own the game you can ONLY buy it as a gift. What the hell would a button with the word "Gift" on it do?

here's a cool tip op. it's not always about selling volume, it's about return of profits. selling more copies at a lower price can actually be detrimental to your bottom line, you want people to be willing to pay full price because they think it's worth it, giving frequent specials or a cheaper gifting system means people will just gift themselves/wait for the inevitable special.

on that note, you can try selling them for $1 for most copies
