Hello everyone!
Now that NS2 has been released, we want to make sure we can continue pushing out patches to you all in as bug-free and timely manner as possible. That's where YOU come in!
We've got quite a few positions open for internal playtesting, so if you ever wanted to help test NS2, now is your chance!
The North-American timezone playtesting applications are now open for anyone who thinks they may have the skills that it takes to do game testing for NS2. Testers who are selected will be able to test the latest maps, content and collaborate with the map & game developers on necessary changes and tweaks.
While we are currently specifically looking for North American Playtesters, Europeans who think they have what it takes may also apply and their application will be looked at in due time.
The duties that are associated with Playtesting are:

Bug finding and testing Fixes (Most of your time will be spent doing this)

Potential Balance suggestions based on public and competitive team-play

Game & Gameplay Tweaks

Mapping errors and annotations

Participate in scheduled, internal PT games.

The play testing schedule for NAPT will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 1600 PST = 4pm PST = 5pm MST = 6pm CST = 7pm EST
Remember, anyone can apply, but we will be taking a look at previous experience with leagues, ladders, beta tests, etc. The best way to improve your chances of being selected is to provide information to any past testing, involvements with other games or being a member of the NS2 community. Applicants with previous playtesting/mapping/coding experience and portfolios are encouraged to apply, but not required.
Before you apply, know that you absolutely MUST have your own copy of Natural Selection 2.
APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN HERE:

If you have any questions, please feel free to add them here in the thread. There is no application closing date.
Good luck from the NS2 PT Leads!

Playtests normally run for 2-4 hours a night twice a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. While you're not expected to turn up to every playtest, you will need to turn up as much as possible. Playtesters are allowed to join both NAPT and EUPT tests, however we're in need of more people in the North american time-zone.
Thanks for your interest!
What kind of special skills are you guys looking for?

Nothing in particular, just curious if people have something 'different' or interesting they bring to the table :)
Really?
I don't even get home from work until 6pm.
I guess you want nothing but high schoolers as your playtesters.

That's 7pm EST. Us east coasters like to sleep during the week too.
Keep in mind you need elephants, and trolls to be able to see what the public could do to harm the community, however you need a tamed troll, otherwise you might run into issues with public leaks.

Good luck to all those who applied. ^_^
Yeah. Would love to help out as a european. I play 5-10 hours a day of ns 2 when i'm in the groove.
Iwe logged the hours in NS1 and NS2 so i'd like to think i'm of use :)
Just got done closing one of Hawken's Betas and was planning on getting back into NS:2 as my regular venue even without the perks of internal testing ;)

No way to edit the application? I wanted to add my game design background and my impressive board game experience. Oh well!
Would they be contacting via email?
Ive been wondering a while how to become a play tester for NS2
Guess it is application based
would be hard to get pro, but everything else including a lot of fun, would perfectly work :)
