I love camo and would really like to see it on both sides, but more realistic.
1. Aliens camo is basically blending into a wall. However, its incredibly dumb for an alien not to have a range limit on his camo. Lets just say 10ft would do it pretty well. So if a marine is within 10ft you are seen. Honestly its very annoying to walk down a hallway hit an invisible wall and then bam!! Onos killed you. If it was Predator onos with high tech camo sure. But this is just "blend in" camo. Not realistic at all.
2. Marine variety: Why not give marines a camo assasin class aswell? Dual-barrel assault rifle, clamp onto walls, light armor-more speed. Marines just lack candy in this game. Just not enough variety in classes/armor/weapons.

So at what point would you actually use the advantages Camo offers then? It's already the weakest of the three trees, it's current "OP" problems and usefulness people are complaining about are generated from pubs with a low skill level. Once commanders get more experienced, scan more and get upgrades quicker Aliens will realize that Camo means weaker Lerks/Fades/Onos.
Also, pretty sure this game isn't striving for realism, though I could be wrong...

Variety isn't the point of the marine side of the game. It's about well-timed aggression, team work and execution. This game doesn't have "classes" either. You have equipment, distributed by the commander, using team acquired resources to hopefully outplay the Aliens in terms of field position and control.
What does a cloaked assassin offer for the team that would fit in with the overall gist of Marine play? The ability to sneak to locations? A savvy jetpacker can do that.
Sorry, just not seeing the need or use for it.
Currently camo is crazy op tbh, in pubs its diabloic because people are idiots and camo all the way from Sub to Atrium giving the marines the entire map but if used by someone without brain damage it is just free kills.
It's neither, actually. There is no Alien model for camo anymore, so when camo is active, there is literally just no graphic being loaded at all.
This also means that it's impossible to, say, mod the camo to a bright white in order to 'beat' it.
