Saving scores after crashes

For some reason my computer isn't a big fan of NS2 and I crash roughly once a game. It's not a massive issue I log the crash, it loads up pretty quickly and I go back to the same game. Is there any way to save stuff like res and score for x minutes in a game so if you crash out you can leap straight back in from where you were? It seems crashing is an issue a lot of people are having and it might make people stick to games for longer (seriously how annoying is it when people just hop out of a game when it's going badly?).

Also as a total noob to both NS2 and FPS on a PC in general I get kinda sad when my end of game kills is like 2 and my total game kills was actually 8 but it bugged. :(
