Rifle bursting while holding down trigger

Having a problem with marine rifle stopping mid-fire while I am still holding down mouse 1. Any gun, but most notably the rifle will stop shooting while I am holding the fire button down. I notice my alien biting to have the same problem, when I click it will not bite. It has not been an issue for me since yesterday. I did reinstall the game from scratch today. I do not think this is an fps issue because I am running on an i7 3770k with a gtx 570 gpu. I also lowered my setting until I got 120+ fps constant and the problem persists. This is a fresh install of NS2 so there are no mods downloaded yet, and I have verified my game cache several times.
