Crash Ns Problem Help

I have had some serious problems with my install of NS...win2k OS, NS did work fine on my computer until today when I started it up and got this "failed to load client.dll from the folder e:\games\sierra\hl\ns\cl_dll\client.dll" tried to reinstall NS but continued to get this error. Tried to uninstall NS yet a folder in my halflife directory called NS.BACKUP.GLF77 containing the files ns_slideshow.exe and gamma_tune.exe remained...when trying to delete these files I get the error "Cannot delete gamma_tune: Error performing inpage operation." I have modified my registry to clear the paging file when i shut down, yet when i reboot I still cannot remove these files and i get the same error. At this point I dont particularily care to get it working again, i just want to get rid of whats left. PLease help me :[
