How Do We Get Cash To The Team?

Is there a PayPal account or anything like that set up for contributions of satisfied users? I know there's that t-shirt site set up, but is the NS team actually getting a worthwhile percent of those nineteen bucks? I like the shirts and wouldn't mind getting a couple, but want to make sure that all the developers are getting more than a buck or two out of it.

On a related note, I'd like to give a huge bit of appreciation to the team for putting this out for us. NS is the most money-worthy video game I've played in months; my money would be better spent for it than for any of the retail games I've shelled out for in a long, long time.

On another related note, I'd also like to thank the team for not going overboard on balance tweaks so far. So many games have fallen into dust when changes were made when players made knee-jerk 'OMG the green armors too strong even though ive been playing for thirty minutes total and dont know that the shotguns alt fire blows it away' statements. Your mod kicks **obscenity**, be careful and wise with your changes and it will continue to kick **obscenity** for years to come. Fix the bugs, stomp the exploits, and you'll have something better as-is than most retail projects get.

NS is a professionally made game that will look good on any of the developer's resume if they choose to go into the business. I'm especially proud that they refuse to put ads on their websites and haven't even put a link to make donations. (though that's not a bad idea) The t-shirts and other items took me by surprise. That's just so damn cool.

I'm sure they wouldn't be against a fan donating some money to help pay for the site hosting and what not. I, unfortunately can't afford anything right now which makes me extra appreciative that they put out such a good game for free. In fact, a RTSFPS was my dream game for quite some time. Now, it's real game that I'm enjoying as much as I can.

Flayra is clearly milking a widow of old money for all she's worth. There's no other explanation.

No, he has a contract with the government to produce teamwork-oriented simulations for the armed forces, and NS is just an offshoot of that. It's all so simple, if you think about it.

    1) Marines have guns.
    2) Skulks are the ultimate suicide bombers
    3) "War on terror", etc etc.
    4) ...
    5) Profit.

Does this tinfoil hat go with this shirt?

Thanks, Kitsune. I'm glad you like NS so much, and we appreciate your desire to contribute money.

We really aren't looking at just having people send us money, though. There was a large group of people who wanted to collect money to send to Flayra before, but he asked them not to. That's why we set up the t-shirt site. We figured it was a good way for people to show their appreciation, but to get something they liked out of it.

Unfortunately cafe press charges a lot for their merchandise, so we don't make that much of a profit, but any little bit helps contribute towards Flayra's ability to keep working on NS and maintain the NS.org site. And we would rather see people get a cool t-shirt they'd like to wear, then just sending us the money.

    how's this one?
    I'd spend money, but I just blew 6000 bucks on college.. sorry <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yeah, I'm glad NS finally got built; Someone has needed to design a FPRTSS(sp?) for a while (a good one).

Now, as soon as I get back to college and my low pings, then you'll get it! <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

Okay, if buying the shirts is what makes the team happy, then buying shirts is what I shall do. As for you guys who're fourteen, the shirts are around nineteen bucks, it shouldn't be too difficult to scrape together the cash or talk a parent into getting one for you. Compared to the fifty bucks of most games these days, nineteen's a steal. That's why I bought both Serious Sam games on the spot.

[Edit: The link for their shirts is, incidentally, <a href='http://www.cafeshops.com/cp/store.aspx?s=thensstore' target='_blank'>here.</a> ]

Yeah this is really nice thing to do. For those of you wondering about the quality, I bought 4 shirts and a mousepad and some stickers and a poster. And a hat for a friend. All were good quality. Even after washing the images look good on the t-shirts. The black hive mousepad is awesome. I wore the tshirt to the gym and ran into one guy who had actually played the game and recognized it. On my way out I talked to 2 guys who thought the shirt (the TSA-logo one) was cool and are now going to try the game. Plus Flayra got a little $ for his hard work. Cant beat that.

    Weee, these are cool!

Wish there was more black though, I like black

It'd be neat if they had little stuffed NS things, lil Gorge Beanie Baby. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

P.S: Is there anywhere I can make suggestions? I know the kinda shirt I'd love to get, but they don't have it. Should I e-mail Charlie with an idea?
