How to go from green (rookie) to normal?

Hi all,
Obviously Im very green as I played about an hour yesterday after buying the game. So this question might be bit premature but how do rookies become veteran or normal players? (Loosing their green, so to speak
)
Im not looking for any short cuts, Im just interested in how this mechanic works as I havent encountered it before this game. Bear with me please & thanks in advance.
Any and all tips are also welcome. Complete NS noob here

It will wear of after 3h of gameplay on it's own.
Imo I would want to keep the green name for a bit longer than 3h. For like 10h
I had "everything" down when I hit my 250h mark lol - a lot fun stuff to learn.
